When I was back in Spore, I couldn’t resist snapping picturs of the Kandang Kerbau Women & Children’s Hospital. Most of the medical facilities that I’ve visited in Thailand are still sad, grey affairs that throw back to the early 70s.

So you can imagine my delight at the brightly painted, wonderfully landscaped hospital that had shops and a children’s playground on the ground floor.

No smokers beyond this point

The entrance walkway

I even liked this spacious, green paved driveway

Hopscotch as we know it..

The aforementioned children's playground

Even a nice artistic installation at the lobby

Finally the reason to be in KK: praying for a loved one

Our English class got cancelled this morning, just hours before we were to conduct it. And this after I’ve spent hours preparing, praying, hyping myself and even being faintly worried by it. The truth is, we have only about 4x 1.5 hours with the students to make a dent on their spiritual consciousness. Now with this new development, we are left with only 4.5 hours.

But God is sovereign and works all things for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. And this time, He’s kind enough to show me His real reasons behind the cancellation.

1. I’ve been down with the cold bug since Tuesday night. As part of my crusade against the bug, I’ve been downing Vit C pills and lots of warm fluids. Today however, I allowed myself to take 2 Paracetamols and a nap. The effects were swift: my nose stopped running. Had the class continued, I wouldn’t have permitted myself the pills/ nap. And I would have been pretty debilitated still.

2. My ex-Thai teacher Wit came around in tears in the afternoon, during the time the class was to be held. She confided in me her troubles and how recently it’s gotten worse. So much so that she was even having suicidal thoughts. Thank God He really intervened in the course of events!

We had a short time together- she crying her heart out to me and me in my 1/2 Thai, 1/2 English sharing a short story that helped me in the testing of my relationship with Vincent. At the end of it, God just liberated her and she was able to commit her problems to the Lord. Truly, His yoke is easy & His burden is light!

Home-made lemon tea to fight off the blues

Somewhere between meeting my sick Thai teacher & having a short workout in the gym, I must have caught the cold bug. Upon reaching home, I was sneezing incessantly. This couldn’t be more untimely!

We were to have our 1st English class in the KKU on Thursday and were planning on a full frontal assault i.e. by all means, preach the gospel! Anyway this explains the hot lemon tea I was furiously “medicating” myself with…
